| The Accelerated Cycle Reach–Fork
truck uses AC-powered drive and lift motors to
enhance truck productivity, maximize energy efficiency,
reduce the cost of operation, and lower the cost per
pallet moved.
The ACR truck does three things above and beyond DC
motor trucks. First, it increases productivity by performing more
pallet moves per hour, with less reduction in truck
performance as the battery discharges. Second, it increases
energy efficiency by providing more runtime per
battery charge. And third, it has a lower overall cost
of operation thanks to reduced maintenancerequirements and
increased reliability.
By eliminating the requirement for drive and lift motor
brushes, AC technology also reduces service requirements
and parts costs. Because of the cooler running
AC motors, heat-related issues with wiring, bearings
and brakes are also dramatically reduced or eliminated.
Because the ACR Truck is based on the proven EASi Reach
Truck platform, it has all the standard EASi Reach
Truck attributes, including the steered idler. There
is no caster snap, no slewing of the truck when
it changes directions, as can occur on reach trucks
equipped with a swivel caster. This works against the
operator and can give them an uncomfortable feeling
while operating the truck.
The faster lift speeds and quicker acceleration of
the ACR Truck, and its ability to deliver higher utilization
rates, make it a particularly appealing option for customers
with taller warehouses and high throughput requirements,
especially those running 24 hours a day, seven days
a week.
With the introduction of the AC Traction (ACT) option, AC-powered
traction systems became available for the complete
line of 36 volt Reach-Fork® and Deep-Reach®
trucks, offering the benefits of AC traction systems
in more reach truck models. |
